An outline planning application for up to 250 dwellings, open space and associated infrastructure was submitted to Mid Suffolk District Council in December 2016, and approved subject to conditions in July 2018.

At this time, it was envisaged that the land directly to the south would be used for a new Primary School and an extension to the College.

A reserved matters application was subsequently submitted in August 2018 for 248 dwellings and approved in June 2019. This was for layout, scale, appearance and landscaping and the application excluded what is now the phase 2 land.

The new Primary School was built elsewhere in the village and so the land reserved for education was no longer required and now forms the site for the phase 2 proposals.

The phase 1 development, known as College Park, has recently completed.
